Trip to Tennessee:
As we wrote last time, we were about to head south for the summer. We had a wonderful time visiting with family and friends in South Carolina and Tennessee. We were also privileged to share our future ministry plans with several churches and also to give a challenge towards mission. We are grateful for the opportunity to meet many new people and establish great relationships!
Rosie and I have had several meetings (through the wonderful world of Skype) with our contacts in Thailand. They have been helping us to work through a budget, locate a suitable language school and helping us walk through the always tricky issue of securing a visa to remain in the country. We are excited as things continue to fall into place and look forward to sharing in more detail in a following update. Our departure date target remains spring of 2013.
Caleb turned 2 years old on October 11th. He enjoyed an Elmo themed party with lots of family, food and red frosting.
- Finances: Since when does a missionary not have financial need, right? LOL. Once we get our budget set and a couple other things in place, we will begin to approach individuals and churches for a monthly financial commitment. We do need a rather large increase in our monthly support. Please pray about being a supporter, and pray for others to jump on board.
- Homeschooling: Rosie has been teaching Nikao this year through a home based academy. This can be challenging at times, especially when John-Michael and Caleb also demand her time and attention. Nikao has been doing much better lately, so please pray that this will continue and Rosie will have the needed grace.
- Wisdom: We need lots of wisdom as we continue to move forward to Thailand. Timing, housing, vehicle, language school, etc. We want to be led by God, not just our own inclinations, so please pray that His hand will continually be our guide.
